Background and Review
The Laughing Skull is a collection of short stories and while most of them are based on ghosts, some are purely humorous. The book has nearly 24 short stories and 'The Laughing Skull' is the first one. (This is the name of the book as well!). As usual, Ruskin Bond tales though simple, touch you to the core of your heart. These stories invoke different emotions. Some invoke chill, others laughter, while some let you brood over.
The reason why I bought this book is due to its cover. The book appeal to me at the very first sight by its vibrant cover (I know, never judge a book by it's cover, but I did!). Though there were many stories which piqued my interest, there were a few which made me wonder and left an everlasting impact. Among them, 'The Ghost and the Idiot', 'Eyes of the Cat', 'He Said it with Arsenic' and 'A Job Well Done' were my personal favourite.
Overall, a short, simple, creepy & humorous book to go back to those childhood days where you just want to read Ruskin Bond all day. I highly recommend this book to everyone.
